Daily Woof and weather December 27

I’m so sorry that I haven’t blogged in a while but I have been so busy on the boat and with high season on full swing just haven’t had time.

Let me fill you in on what’s going on.  Me and the Discovery Divers gang have been going crazy busy with all sorts of divers, PADI courses, discover scuba divers, and snorkelers.  I haven’t even had the energy when I get home to tip over the garbage.  My dad likes that.  Maybe that is why he has me working so much.  I even was the captain yesterday on the boat.

So, today we had two boats to Koh Tao and one to Sail Rock.  the whole gang was on board, Stella, Axel, Joe, Tao, Arnould, Nik, Em and Claudio was in the shop with 4 PADI open water students.  Eric was in the office keeping everything running smoothly.

Tomorrow, we have 3 boats going out again with two to Koh Tao and 1 to Sail Rock.

Congratulations today to David on completing his open water course and Dani completing his EFR and rescue diver course.

I’ll leave you with some pictures and then I am going to sleep.

Daily Woof and Weather December 19

Another whale shark today.  What’s going on?  These guys are everywhere.  Good thing for the whale shark that I wasn’t on the boat today or I would have punched his lights out.  I’m not afraid of a 4 meter whale shark.

Today the Discovery gang saw another whale shark at Shark Island.  We had a full boat again today with lots of fun-divers.  hard to believe that they could have a good time without me, but everyone did anyway.

We are now pulling into high gear with high season here and I am going crazy trying to keep track of all of the PADI courses, discover scubas, try dives and fun-divers.  I  guess that’s what comes from being the dog in charge.

Tomorrow is another busy day with PADI open water courses starting, discover scuba divers, and bubblemakers all going on.

The weather here was beautiful today again and looks that way for the next few days and then looks like some rain coming our way for a few days.  Well, you can’t sit on the beach or at the pool when it rains so you may as well be under the water with us here at Discovery.

Daily Woof and Weather December 16

Yea!  Early Christmas for me.  I got to go on the boat today again.  I love it like this being on the boat so much.  We had a great day today on the Discovery Divers boat to Koh Tao.  I got to hang out with a great bunch of people and even had the job of keeping Joe awake.  I think they may dock my pay for that one.

As high season is here, it looks like I am going to have to work a lot.  I haven’t heard from the boss yet if I’m on the boat yet tomorrow, so I better keep the partying to a minimum tonight.  I have heard rumors though that we are having our Christmas party tomorrow night, so I am psyched for that.

Today we had a bunch of Discover Scuba divers on board as well as Tania and Coen taking their PADI open water course with Tao.

Tomorrow is another busy day with a full boat of divers going to Koh Tao and we have another boat going to Sail Rock.  I love being busy.

The weather has been holding up great.  Today was really warm and sunny most of the day.  Tomorrow is a high of 31 and partly sunny skies.

Check out some of my action pictures here and on our facebook page that you can access from our webpage.  The link is to the right of my blog.

Daily Woof and Weather December 13

What a great day on the boat today.  We had a full boat and i served as snorkel guide for a big group of people.  On top of that of course I was the main entertainment on the boat.

It was me, Stella, Axel, and Nick in Koh Tao with a good mix of fun-divers, PADI open water courses and discover scuba divers.  The weather was great also.

Also, today Claudio had divers to Sail Rock and what a day they had.  They saw 2 whalesharks there today.  You can check out some great photos and awesome video on our facebook page.  you can reach that from the bottom of our website at http://www.discoverydivers.com or clicking the link to the right.  this video will knock your paws off.

Tomorrow we have another full boat going to Koh Tao with Joe, Axel, Anould and Claudio.  I’ll have to stay in the shop tomorrow and get everything finished for high season which is only days away.

Tomorrow’s weather is still looking pretty good with a high of 31 and partly cloudy skies.  There is a chance of rain later in the day.

Daily Woof and Weather December 12

Finally I am on the boat schedule for tomorrow.  Since we have a group of snorkelers on our Discovery boat tomorrow I am going to be the snorkel guide.  I am psyched!!  I went out to the beach today just to practice up on my snorkeling skills and can’t wait until tomorrow to show my group all of the great stuff to see in Koh Tao.

I can’t believe how busy we are for tomorrow.  We actually had to stop taking customers this afternoon because we are full.  Our boat is full to Koh Tao and we have divers going to Sail Rock also.  So we got Stella, Axel, Nik and Claudio and me on the boats and Eric and Arnould are both starting a bunch of courses in the shop.  With high season just around the corner looks like the relaxing is over for me.

Today was also a great day with a bunch of Discover scuba divers going to Koh Tao and Axel starting open water course at the shop.

The weather is till looking good with tomorrow being partly sunny and a high of 31.  Perfect weather.

Ok, time to rest up for my big day

Daily Woof and Weather December 10

The weather is beautiful, the power is on and we’re busy as hell.  What a week.

Well, we are in full gear now getting ready for high season which is right around the corner and still taking out a bunch of divers everyday.  I have been running my tail off making sure all of our equipment is ready, that the boat is perfect and everyone back from vacation to start the really busy season.

I have been booking a lot of people and we are already close to sold out for the holiday season, even with all the instructors we have.  I can’t wait to be on the full boat everyday being able to greet the customers and get back to making sure everyone is safe in the water.

Today we had divers out to Sail Rock and the conditions were great for this time of year with 20 meter visibility and tons of fish.  I get hungry just thinking about it.

Tomorrow we have almost a full boat going out to Koh Tao with Axel, Arnould and Tao taking out fun divers and Discover Scuba divers.

Well, I am gonna get to bed early as I got a busy day in the shop tomorrow.

Daily Woof, Weather and blackout

Here we are at the end of day 3 without electricity. They say the power should be back by Easter.  The good thing is that nobody is really bitching too much.  There are gripes here and there about hurting business and tourism, but everyone is still in pretty good spirits.  Listen, as long as they keep feeding me my dogfood and I get water, has my life really changed that much?

Well, even with no power, the Discovery Divers gang has been going strong.  We had a full boat out today to Koh Tao with Ahnould, Axel, Stella and Em and more divers to Sail Rock with Claudio.  Eric and I held down the office for the day while Joe has been enjoying a few days vacation diving in the Similans.  Funny how Joe left the morning the power went out.

Congratulations to Niha and Ann for completing their PADI open water courses.

Tomorrow is another busy day with our boat going to Sail Rock with Eric, Tao and Ahnould, and Axel is on the boat doing a deep diver specialty course.  I think I may have to join in tomorrow and cool down in the water.

The wather has been fantastic with no rain and no wind and flat seas.  And it looks like that for the foreseeable future.  Of course right now I would kill for about 20 degrees as we have no air conditioning at the moment.

I’ll leave you with some pictures from today’s diving.

Daily woof and weather December 4

No power all day and still none here in Koh samui! I finally got phone service again, so I am writing this on my dogberry.

The power went out about 9 am, and is still out now at 9pm. Who knows when it will be back on? Good thing our boat doesn’t run on electric. So I spent the night hanging in the dark and drinking wine with dad and Stella. Below is a picture of me tonight

Well even with the blackout, our boats still went out full to Koh Tao and sail rock. Congratulations to Larissa in completing her PADI open water course.

Tomorrow we got the boat out with a lot divers for Koh Tao
The weather was beautiful today with clear skies and warm. Tomorrow is looking 31 high and sunny. Does anyone have a battery powered air conditioner?

Daily Woof and Weather December 2

Very scary here today in Koh Samui.  I saw this big, bright yellow thing in the sky and did not know what it was.  Finally someone explained to me that it was the sun.  I hadn’t seen it in so long that I forgot what it looked like.

That is the good news of course.  It looks like the heavy rains have stopped at least for now and we got beautiful weather today and more coming.  I can’t wait to get out to the beach again and get back in the water.

We still have been very busy here at the shop, even with the bad weather we had for the last couple of weeks.  Lots of divers and courses going on.  And now we got everyone back from vacation this week and my old friend Anould is now working full time for us, so we got a full staff ready for high season which is only a couple of weeks away.

So, tomorrow we got a full plate with our Discovery boat going out to Koh Tao with fun divers and open water courses and Axel will be in the shop starting a couple of new open water courses, so busy , busy, busy.

As far as the weather goes, it is great for this time of year.  Lots of sun and low winds for the next few days with temps around 31. Couldn’t be better.

I’ll leave you with some pictures from last weeks diving.
