Daily Woof and Weather February 21

Another big and busy day here at Discovery.  Of course as busy as we were in the office, I found time to go swimming all afternoon on the beach.  Can’t have all work and no play.

So today, We had Martha finishing here open water course with Karl.  Congratulations to her. We also had J.P finish his advanced open water course.  Besides that we had Dayna with open water students and lots of fun divers on the boat today.

Also congratulations to Axel in completing his BSAC equipment technician course.  Now we have an in-house technician to service all of our equipment. Of course I thought that job was mine!

For tomorrow another busy day with Axel, Karl, Joe, Dayna and Claudio all on the boats.

As for the weather, another beautiful day on tap for tomorrow.  Sunny skies and high of 32 degrees.  Looks like I’m gonna have to cool off in the sea again.

I’ll leave you with a picture from yesterday of Joe and Catherine riding a dinosaur.  Boy is that dinosaur lucky that I wasn’t there.  I would have chased him all the way over to Cambodia.  Also, for those of you who don’t think I work,  here is a picture of me writing the blog today.

Have a good night and bark at ya later.

Daily Woof and Weather February 20

Happy Presidents Day everyone!!  Woops, forgot where I was.  Guess nobody here really cares about that holiday.  Lets face it, no one cares in the US either, except they get the day off.  Well, I can’t afford to take a day off here now in Samui as we are so busy this week even I am doing try dives in the pool.  Unfortunately management here at the Amari put a stop to that.  At least I didn’t pee in the pool like the little kids.

Unfortunately, Eric saw fishing nets at Chumphon Pinnacle today.  They are not supposed to fish there as this is a dive site where the fish should flourish for our enjoyment.  We cut down as much as we could during the dive to save some fish.  You can see in the pictures how disturbing this can be.

Well, we are busy.  Congratulations today to Stella on completing her advanced open water course.  Also congratulations to the Schmidt family on their first day diving.  Dayna was busy in the pool with 2 new open water students and Joe was starting a new advanced open water course.

Tomorrow we have a full house again going to Koh Tao with open water students, advanced students and fun divers.  We are also full for Wednesday already.  Can’t wait until my bonus comes this month.  There better be a full case of Dentabones for me.

Wow, just writing the blog here at 7:00 I just sold 3 more t-shirts.  I am the Top Dog!!

As far as the weather goes, looks like the rain is over.  Tomorrow is calling for sunny skies and a high of 32 degrees.  I think I will need to go cool off in the water tomorrow.  Well, off to finish my work and go home.  I will leave you some great pictures of the diving today.  How come I can’t have fun like these guys?

Bark at ya later,

What up?

Well, we have rain again here today in Samui which messed up my plans to look for chicks on the beach today, but the good news is that the shop was very busy today with divers that I got to play all day.  I think I had a great day anyway.

As I said, we were so busy today, that we are already full for Monday and Tuesday.  Today, Joe was on the boat to Sail Rock with Joelle and Marta.  Dayna was in the pool with Jean Phillipe and Catherine doing scuba review before they start their advanced courses tomorrow, and Karl was doing an open water course.  Everyone was busy today and I was busy booking more divers and selling equipment.

Great news is the rain is going to stop tomorrow and the sun is going to return here.  Good thing because there is a leak in the roof of my doghouse and I am sick of getting wet.

Tomorrow the whole gang, Eric, Karl, Joe, Axel is going to be on the boat and Dayna is starting open water students.

The weather for tomorrow is a high of 32 with maybe a sprinkle in the morning and then the sun coming out for the rest of the day.

I’ve got to get back to my customers so I’ll leave you with some pictures from today’s diving and office and bark at ya later.

Daily Woof and Weather February 17

Well today I took the day off to spend on the beach and go swimming.  Also working on my tan as you can see.  Since I am sure I am going to go diving soon, I am starting to bone-up on my diving skills.  Getting ready for Koh Tao soon.

Tomorrow back to the office to sell some diving and equipment.  Finally Sail Rock is clearing up and getting better everyday.

Today we had boats going to Sail Rock and to Koh Tao.  Everyone had a lot of fun and the sunshine and warm weather didn’t hurt either.

Tomorrow we are off to Chumphon and Koh Tao with a bunch of DSDs and fun divers.  Karl, Dayna and Axel will be taking these guys out for their adventure while I am in the office.

I am putting in some pictures from today’s diving. I hope you enjoy them.

Bark at ya later,

What a night I had last night.  I had 3 dates for valentine’s day and was working my tail off not to let them know about each other.  (Please don’t call me a dog, where do you think the expression came from anyway?)  After my 3 dates i headed back over to the Boneyard and actually picked up number 4.  After work today I am going to need a break.

It’s good to be back supervising in the shop again.  We had another busy day here as with the perfect weather, everyone is excited about going diving, including me.  Can’t wait to get on that boat!!

I didn’t sell as much equipment as yesterday because yesterday all the divers were trying to find things to buy for their husbands, wives, girlfriends or boyfriends.  the one day that they can’t get away buying the cheap Tesco stuff.  They got to come here to Discovery for the good stuff.

Congratulations to Marc today in completing his advance open water course today.  He had a beautiful dive a Chumphon Pinnacle today to finish off the course.  He did underwater photography for one of his dives and I will show you some of his pics.

Well, off to rest up for another busy day tomorrow.

Daily Woof -14th Feb

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Diving today, we had Tom who completed his PADI Advanced Open Water course with Joe, and Shimon, who went fun-diving with Karl at Chumphon Pinnacles and Shark Island. Visibility was great, a slight current at Shark Island, but everyone had a great time nonetheless. Check out these great shots of a Blue Spotted Ray, Anemones and Batfish taken by Tom while doing his Underwater Photography Adventure Dive (just one of the available choices as part of the Advanced course). Well done!

You’ll be glad to hear that Pops is much better now, plus I got to go and deliver some roses to my bitches, tonight I’m taking 3 girls for a dogs-dinner under the stars (Chi-Chi the Chihuahua; a shitzhu called Sharlize; and Betsy the Boxer). I think they’re all pretty great, but we’ll see who wins me over… If there’s any female canines out there looking for a hound of love? You know where to find me.

Anyone with more of an interest in fish, contact the office and I’ll arrange a date with one of the instructors (if I’m ‘otherwise engaged’)!

Daily Woof and Weather February 13

Hey Folks, things could not be better here on Samui.  I finally caught the evil mosquito today.  He had been hiding from me near my neighbor’s house, but I caught the scent of my dad’s blood and tracked him down.  I held him down while Tong Naam and Deng Mo took turns kicking him in the stomach.  After that we tore his wings off and told him to fly away.  Hahahah, wait till the geckos get to this guy…

Good news is dad is starting to feel better and looks like I can go back to work tomorrow.  Of course I will be spending the day cruising the beach near the Amari looking for my Valentine’s date.  I hope Stella’s leg doesn’t get jealous.

Today we had a bunch of diver’s going to Sail Rock and tomorrow we are heading out to Koh Tao.  I’ll fill you in more on conditions once I get my feet wet back at work tomorrow.

As far as the weather goes, more of the same here.  Tomorrow 31 degrees and sunny with very light winds.  Couldn’t be better for hunting for chicks on the beach.

Wish me luck.

Daily Woof and Weather February 11

I know this is starting to sound like a broken record, but another beautiful day here in Koh Samui.  Of course this is the time of year when we have this everyday.  Kind of like the movie Groundhog Day.  Why did they use a groundhog for that movie anyway?  Would have been a much better flick if it was called Stoliboy Day.  Any producer’s want to put up some $$ for a sequel?  C’mon, everybody loves dog movies, especially with someone as cute as me as the star….

Ok, back to diving.  Congratulations today to Ursula in completing her open water course today.  She is going to take a couple of days off and then on to her advanced course.  Also, Marc who did a scuba review and fun dive with us today decided to do his advanced course also next week.  Tomorrow Joe is taking out some DSDs to Koh Tao and Xenia will be finishing her open water with Axel.

Meanwhile, tomorrow I will be heavy on the hunt for the evil mosquito flying around here in Samui.  I even went out today and bought one of those tennis racket things that frys these guys.  But maybe I will torture him first when I find him.  Maybe bite his wings off or something and then make like Roger Federer on his butt!!

As far as the weather goes, just more of the same.  High temp tomorrow is supposed to be 31 with no rain or wind in the forecast.  Can it get any better than this?

Bark at ya soon

Daily Woof and Weather February 10

Well, I have had an eventful couple of days here in Samui.  My dad got bit by some bad mosquito and got sick and I’ve had to stay home and take care of him with his private nurse.  I really like the nurse also and especially her leg.   I also have been spending my time hunting down the mosquito that bit him  I have a good enough sense of smell that i will know which one bit him and boy, wait till I get a hold of that mosquito.  There will be some trouble.

The rest of the team at Discovery has been taking care of everything and has been on the boats everyday going to Koh Tao and Chumphon Pinnacle where the conditions have been really good.  Ead has been doing a great jot booking the divers and running the office.  We are coming up on a couple of very busy weeks at the shop and I hope my dad gets better so that I can get back in the shop and take care fo business.

Between checking in at work, supervising the building of my new home, and taking care of dad my days been pretty full.

Congratulations today to Robert on completing his PADI scuba diver course today and Vanessa who is 10 years old on completing her PADI junior scuba diver course.  Tomorrow Ursula will complete her open water and then on to her advanced course next week.

As far as the weather goes, it could not be better.  tomorrow calls for a high of 29 degrees with no wind and no rain in sight.  Perfect diving weather.

Well, bark at ya later.

Daily Woof and weather February 9

Busy here at the shop today.  We have 2 scuba diver students starting with Axel and 1 open water starting with Dayna.  Karl is out at the pool and I am at the spa getting me haircut and bath.  I can’t wait to get home to the beach and jump in the water and then roll around in the sand to get this clean smell off of me.

Yesterday was a great day at Koh Tao and Sail Rock.  Chumphon was 15+ meters and tons and tons of fish and Twins had a bunch of different and interesting stuff.  check out Eric and Joe’s pics from yesterday below.

As far as the weather goes the forecast for the whole next week is the same.  Sunny skies, no rain and calm winds.  The weather that Samui is famous for.  Now that we are also coming out of the full moon the conditions are getting better and we should start seeing the awesome spring conditions we are famous for.

Well, let me get back to my spa day and talk to you soon.
